Arret des Cosmiques(written by Julien, photos by

We meet the next morning in front of the Aiguille that will take us over
3800m. It¡¯s 8h15, we enter the bin heading for the top!
Bad luck, the controller tells us that the tram is going to close early, at
13h15. Our route is too long, we won¡¯t make it in time and we don¡¯t want to
walk down the mountain, over 25 km and 2000 vertical meters. We decided to
take a short cut in order to reach the top of our route in time.
We start to walk down the ridge of the Aiguille, on our left, 2000m lower is
the town of Chamonix, scary vision...
We reach the short cut on time and start walking up a couloir, there¡¯s a lot of snow, knee high, it¡¯s hard to
progress, but we are happy...
After 45 minutes we reach the technical part of
our route. It¡¯s a 5m wall, almost vertical with one big crack running through
it. Gung-Yeal, master of climbing easily reaches the top, I follow, we are now
in the last part, a superb chimney, 2 meters wide and 50m long that goes
straight to the top, the sun is there, we finished our
first climb. (Click! Photos!!)
