Our second climb is more difficult, It¡¯s in the same area, on top of the
Aiguille. The route is called: Goulotte Chéré (III, 4 350m) it¡¯s a step ice
couloir, 80°-85°. We meet again at the same time, but today the weather is
bad... We reach the top of the Aiguille, it¡¯s cold, windy and snowing! The
ridge is very dangerous, the wind blows hard, the snow stings our eyes, and there is a lot of fog, visibility is bad. We walk down, the snow is deep and we have to put snow shoes on. A long walk in the snow and fog begins. One hour later we reach our start point- cool! Gung -Yeal starts climbing up a snow field to the first belay, i follow. After several pitches and a block of ice falling down we reach our last belay, my feet are numb, we have to go down quick or they will freeze. A few rappels later we start walking back to the Aiguille, it¡¯s still snowing and the wind is getting stronger. We reach the
ridge and start walking back up, the ridge is very hard to walk up in bad conditions! We reach to the top after strugling against wind and snow, ouf! Back down to Chamonix super happy...
